When this Wellington home reached a point where a roofing replacement was essential, the homeowner contacted Refresh Renovations Wellington to learn how they could make the renovation a smooth experience. The roof’s six skylights were leaking, certain areas of the roof structure needed repairing and, overall, the home required better protection from the elements. Renovation specialist Mark Morrison met with the homeowner to discuss her needs and helped her to put together a plan. Mark was able to provide her with a cost estimate, a project timeframe and detailed project management. It was decided that a new corrugated roof would be the best approach. To carry out the replacement, Mark scheduled in and supervised his team - ensuring the work stayed within his client’s specifications. The work required the expertise of a roofer, builder, plasterer, painter and electrician. By working with a renovation specialist, the homeowner could rest easy knowing that every detail of the project was being taken care of for her.
As part of the roof replacement, Mark’s team improved the structural integrity of the roof by also replacing some damaged timber. From there, it was decided that the skylights had to go. “My client didn’t really like the skylights, so, during the re-roofing, it was decided to just get rid of them”, explains Mark.
While it was estimated that the project would take up to four weeks to complete, Mark and his team were able to present the homeowners with their updated home within just three weeks. Satisfied with the completed result and time-efficient project, it’s the aesthetics that have left a lasting impression, says Mark.
