A bathroom and laundry renovation in Wellington

When the time came to make a few specific updates to their Wellington villa, these homeowners contacted Refresh Renovations. From there, their local Renovation Specialist Lia Boersma met with them to discuss their ideas. With the support of her team, Lia then took care of their project’s design, planning, council consent, renovation costs and build-through to the completed result. 

New bathroom

The homeowners decided on a practical and chic modern bathroom design. To achieve this, Lia’s team needed to completely re-build the room to make it compliant with local building regulations.  
“The shower had been leaking for some time and exterior waterproofing had failed which resulted in a lot of rotten framing that had to be replaced, and the exterior wall had to be resealed”, explains Lia.
Once the initial demolition, waterproofing and reconstruction had been carried out; Lia’s team began adding in the clients’ selection of herringbone tiles, bathware fittings, paintwork and a repurposed native timber cavity sliding door. The result is a high-quality new bathroom that makes optimal use of space. 

Laundry room renovation

In the laundry, the homeowners wanted to reconfigure their laundry toilet and rear entrance area so that the layout would offer more functionality and practical storage space. Under Lia’s guidance; the toilet was separated from the laundry room, storage space was enhanced and the paintwork and style of the room were updated to match the new bathroom.   

Result

When asked about her thoughts on the final result, Lia notes that the updated spaces are now nice, clean and functional - with enhanced storage, adding: 
“I loved the repurposing of native timber doors into cavity sliders and the herringbone tiling in the bathroom.”
