How much does it cost to re-roof your home on a mid-range budget?

If you’ve got around $20,000 - $60,000 to spend on your new roof, copper or membrane roofing is within your budget and last 50+ years. As you begin your roofing project, keep in mind that it’s the ideal time to check the framing structure and upgrade insulation if you need to.

What material options do you have?

You get what you pay for, so having a little more room in your budget allows you to opt for higher quality materials. While some people prefer iron over tiles, both are highly durable choices. Other choices within this price range include membrane and copper. Membrane, iron and clay tiled roofing can last up to 50 years while copper roofing can last up to 100. Ask your roofer about solar reflected paints for added longevity.

How long will your new roof take?

This is an important consideration because if your roof is coming off you’ll need to house yourself and your family elsewhere for the duration of the project. While four days is usually the minimum, a week will allow for any weather delays or issues that may arise.
Depending on the materials you end up going with, expect to pay around $150 - $300 per m2 for materials and installation.
